■In lieu of the Bow Rotary Club’s Scholarship Auction, the club is holding a cash raffle in hopes of raising enough money to fund at least a few the scholarships usually awarded. The raffle has three cash prizes: $1,250 for first prize, $500 for second and $250 for third. Tickets are one for $5 or 5 for $20 and are available for purchase at Merrimack County Savings Bank (Bow branch), through any Bow Rotary member and at bowrotary.org. ■A customer drive-thru for the Bow Garden Club’s Poinsettia Sale will be on Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Bow Community Center, 3 Bow Center Road. Pre-ordered poinsettias will be brought out to your car by a garden club member who will be masked and gloved.
■The Garden Club is now accepting donations of new pajamas and books through its annual Pajama Project which will run through the end of November. The pajamas and books collected this year will be distributed to Family Promise of Greater Concord and Friends, families receiving assistance through Bow Human Services and Friends of Forgotten Children in Penacook, which also serves the greater Concord area. Collection boxes are now in place in the entryways of the Baker Free Library and the Bow Parks & Rec Dept. Donations can also be given to any Bow Garden Club member. ■A Socially Distant Book Chat at the library will be held Wednesday at noon. Meet outside in front of the bandstand on the Town Common. Bring your own chair and spread out. Dress warmly. Please wear a mask. If the weather looks fierce, the meeting will be held virtually via Zoom.
■ Read to Dogs Virtually through the library. Kids in grades 1-4 who register will have a 15-minute virtual session with a dog. The next session is Thursday with Lily and handler Liz from 3-4 p.m. Take & make crafts are available weekly while supplies last. Grab supplies and go. Crafts are outside on the porch.
■On Nov. 25, the Town Clerk Office will be open from 8 a.m. to noon. Nov. 25 is also Teacher Workshop Day, so there is no school for students.
■Town Offices are closed on Nov. 25 and Nov. 26 for Thanksgiving. There is also no school.
■During November the DCC Book Club will read “Pearl in the Sand” by Tessa Afsyar. Discussion is scheduled for Dec. 3 from 7-8 p.m.
■Wreaths Across America volunteers are planning for their winter placement of wreaths in our town. ■On Saturday, the Weare Democrats will hold their annual Pie and Penny Raffle from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Moody Pond Marketplace. There will be masks and social distancing.
■The Weare Board of Selectmen will be re-convening a public hearing (that was tabled on July 27) for public testimony and comment on Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. This public hearing is regarding increasing non-resident parking fees.

■GHSS Crafty Critters will gather Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at Deering Fish and Game. We have a group crocheting hats that are to be donated. Newcomers and beginners are welcome and we provide the yarn, if you don’t have any. ■Sign up for Bill Koch Ski League. The mission of the Bill Koch League is to introduce children to cross-country skiing in a fun and supportive environment. It is run under the auspices of Hopkinton’s Blackwater Nordic Ski Club and is open to all children grades 1-8. Practices will be held after school on Tuesdays and Fridays at the Fairgrounds and some Sunday afternoons at Pat’s Peak. Skiers do not need to attend all practices. Registration is required and equipment is not provided. Some rental equipment is available. There will be COVID safety policies to adhere to.
