City crews in downtown Concord worked overnight Thursday clearing away snow banks to provide for easier parking and walking. Wednesday’s snowstorm left 7 inches of heavy wet snow around the Capital area.
Concord usually sees about 60 inches of snow a year. The snowiest winter this century – and the second highest since records were kept – was the winter of 2007-08, which had 119.5 inches.
One of the least snowy winters of record was just three years ago during the winter of 2015-16, which had 29.7 inches. It was the fourth lowest total since 1868.
