Up to 10 children in first through third grades are encouraged to sign up for a summer art program.
This is a Reggio Emilia inspired class in which students will be encouraged to create their own work and not a copy. They will explore various media throughout the week.
Each morning will begin with some inspiration followed by exploration of materials and a project. Students will also have a snack break in the morning. If it is nice out we will eat lunch outside on the Art Barn patio and then return into the studio to wrap up the mornings project if needed. At the end of the day students will learn to critique their work in a way that inspires and encourages one another to come back to create again tomorrow. All art materials will be supplied.
The program will run from June 24 to 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily.
