Bow defeated Merrimack, 4-0, in the semifinals of the boys’ New Hampshire Soccer League. Noah Zanella scored a hat trick, while Rolly Gilbert added another. Blake Crowell controlled the middle of the field. Defensively, Luke Andrews, Chase Crowell, Kyle Cimis and Clayton Nadzan shut down Merrimack’s offensive runs.
The Concord Capitals 11U Premier Pee Wee team played a hard fought game against Keene’s 12U team at Keene Ice Center. Keene scored three goals early and three more in the final few minutes to win, 6-0. In the Capitals second game of the day, the team lost to Rhode Island Junior Blues, 3-1. Sean Atwell scored the lone goal off an assist from Jackson Gfroerer.
The Tilton School football team lost to St. Luke’s, 31-0. Karis Saplys, Oscar Li and Max Strohecker all ran the ball well for the Rams.
Andy Levins sat atop the leaderboard with a total gross score of 69 after the first round of the Gold Tee Championships at Beaver Meadow. Pete Topolosky was in second at 74, while Chris Dorney and Tom Levins were tied for third at 75. Topolosky was in first for the net division with a score of 65.
Franklin High School Fall Sports Banquet, hosted by the FHS Boosters Club, will be on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria. There will be a potluck dinner. Seacoast Express United goalkeeper clinic will begin Dec. 19 and run through Jan. 30, 2020. Goalkeepers will be working with a collegiate goalkeeper coach on all aspects of the game, including handling, footwork, diving, one-on-one drills and shot stopping. The class will be split into two halves as goalkeepers will spend the first 30 minutes working on different techniques before switching over to game-like situations facing shots and different scenarios from the outfield players. Cost for the clinic is $80 and will take place from 5-6 p.m. for players born 2008-2010, and from 6-7 p.m. for players born 2005-2007. NH Spartans AAU program will be hosting boys and girls youth basketball tryouts for grades 2-8.
