My older daughter reminded me yesterday that her children have participated in lockdown drills in elementary school. They’re held so little kids know what to do if an active shooter is roaming their building, firing weapons.

Last week, members of Congress were suddenly subjected to similar procedures, being whisked out of large chambers into smaller, more secure rooms. I wonder how our senators and representatives feel now about gun laws. I know all those children would vote in favor of them, because they want to feel safe in their public schools.
