Michael Carpenter of the Bow Police Department will replace Margaret Lougee, the town’s current police chief, as the student resource officer for the school district.
“Officer Carpenter will be a great asset for the department and the school district,” said Lougee, who was a school resource officer for 10 years. “This task is a huge responsibility, and I feel Officer Carpenter will do a great job at continuing to keep open lines of communication with the district, teaching safety classes and counseling students.”
Carpenter has previous experience instructing classes at Bow High School, working with the Bow Police Explorer Post and at one time served as the juvenile officer for the now-closed Tobey School. He will begin training with Lougee on Jan. 3.
