Thank Kuster for supporting wildlife bill

New Hampshire residents should not take our diversity of fish and wildlife for granted, because while some species are thriving (like deer, turkeys and beaver), others like the big brown bat, American kestrel, native brook trout and monarch butterfly are facing increasing challenges.

The Department of Fish and Gameโ€™s Wildlife Action Plan has identified which of our stateโ€™s wildlife species are in immediate management need. Thanks to Rep. Annie Kuster, those species might soon get the attention and funding they need.

The Recovering Americaโ€™s Wildlife Act (H.R. 5650), introduced by bipartisan Reps. Don Young, an Alaska Republican, and Debbie Dingell, a Michigan Democrat, would dedicate over a billion dollars nationally of funding every year, from existing revenues from energy development on federal lands.

Those of us who enjoy the outdoors believe that restoring our wildlife unites Americans from all backgrounds and walks of life. This bill already has strong bipartisan support and offers both parties a chance for real progress on an issue supported by the vast majority of Americans.

Congresswoman Annie Kuster has co-sponsored this important bill and her leadership will be important to finally solve this funding challenge.

Conservation of wildlife before emergency efforts are necessary under the Endangered Species Act makes fiscal sense and is good for wildlife, good for taxpayers and good for business.

Thank you, Rep. Kuster, for your support of H.R. 5650.
