■“Drive-thru” customer pick-up will be place on Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon in regard to customers picking up the poinsettias they pre-ordered through the Bow Garden Club’s annual fundraiser. The new pick-up location will be the Bow Community Center, 3 Bow Center Road. Precautions will be in place to ensure both customers and workers safety in regard to COVID-19 concerns: Customer pick up will be at the Bow Community Center, a larger venue for social distancing with a more adequate parking lot for customers who will need to drive in to to pick up their pre-purchased poinsettias. Each customer’s pre-ordered poinsettias will be brought out to their car by a garden club member who will be masked and gloved. Customers picking up need to be wearing masks as well. The garden club would like to thank everyone that purchased poinsettias through this annual fundraiser – their 10th – whether for the first time or by re-ordering once again. ■The Garden Club is now accepting donations of new pajamas and books through its annual Pajama Project which will run through mid-November. The pajamas and books collected this year will be distributed to Family Promise of Greater Concord and Friends, families receiving assistance through Bow Human Services and Friends of Forgotten Children in Penacook, which also serves the greater Concord area. Collection boxes are now in place in the entryways of the Baker Free Library and the Bow Parks & Rec Dept. Donations can also be given to any Bow Garden Club member. ■This week while pumping gas for my car in Henniker, I met a lady from Hopkinton. In just a few minutes we had a nice conversation and I left with a smile on my face. Meeting Betsy kept a smile on my face for most of the morning. These are challenging times but I am so appreciative of these small encounters and experiences that bring a smile and hope. In the Hopkinton and Contoocook community, I witness this every day. I am so appreciative and thankful. Take care and be well.

■Sign up for Bill Koch Ski League. The mission of the Bill Koch League is to introduce children to cross-country skiing in a fun and supportive environment. It is run under the auspices of Hopkinton’s Blackwater Nordic Ski Club and is open to all children grades 1-8. Practices will be held after school on Tuesdays and Fridays at the Fairgrounds and some Sunday afternoons at Pat’s Peak. Skiers do not need to attend all practices. Registration is required and equipment is not provided. Some rental equipment is available. There will be COVID safety policies to adhere to.
