By most accounts, Jim Bouley has served the City of Concord well, but several concerns lead me to believe it’s time for new, more energetic leadership. First, by profession, Jim Bouley is a lobbyist, meaning he is paid to represent the interests of his clients at the State House. To accomplish that task he must have good relationships with legislators and be able to ask legislators to support or defeat legislation as it benefits his clients. This legislation may not always be in the best interests of the citizens of Concord. I see no scenario where this wouldn’t compromise his ability to wholeheartedly advocate for the people of Concord.
Second, I am troubled by the mayor’s lack of public leadership, especially during the ongoing COVID pandemic. Perhaps Mr. Bouley was working furiously behind the scenes, but we did not see or hear from him during this time. It was like he was missing in action. Think — did you hear or see from our mayor during the peak of the COVID crisis? Did he mail you anything? Did you hear him on the radio? I didn’t. In short, Jim Bouley can’t go to the mat for us citizens of Concord at the State House and he seems tired and lacking the fire to lead Concord into the future. I, Taylor Hall, am ready, willing, and able to bring new energy and positive change to the office of mayor and ask for your vote on November 2nd.
