The state’s chief medical examiner has ruled 22-year-old University of New Hampshire student Vincenzo “Vinny” Lirosi’s death over the weekend was accidental and caused by drowning.
Lirosi, 22, of Whitman, Massachusetts, was found dead Sunday in a marshy area in Durham. Autopsy results have not been released, but officials said they don’t believe the death was suspicious.
Durham’s police department announced the findings in a press release Wednesday morning, three days after the body of Lirosi was found in a marshy area Sunday off Coe Drive. He had gone missing early Saturday morning after a night out with friends, including attending a party at Main Street apartments.
