The headliner at the October “Third Friday” concert offered by The Andover Community Coffeehouse will be New Hampshire’s own Skip Gorman. The Oct. 21 concert will begin at 7 p.m. in the Highland Lake Grange Hall. The event is open to the public at no charge. The program will also feature appearances by up to five “open-mic” performers. Doors to the Grange Hall open at 6 p.m. for simple supper food and beverage purchases, and for open mic sign-ups on a first-come, first-served basis. 

CanterburyFilm screening

Liz and Matt Myer Boulton of SALT, an Emmy Award-winning production company, captured Canterbury Shaker Village through film. The project resulted in a visitor orientation film, Holy Ground, that will be shown at Peterborough Community Theatre on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. The event is free and will include wine and popcorn. The screening of the short film will be followed by author and New Hampshire resident Howard Mansfield, who will read from his book, Chasing Eden. To RSVP, contact Rae Easter at reaster@shakers.org.

2022 Soils Field Days on Oct. 20 or 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event begins at Riverhill Grange, 32 Horse Hill Rd., Concord, NH and concludes at Carter Hill Orchard, 73 Carter Hill Rd., Concord, NH. This field day is geared towards: teachers, planning boards, code enforcement officers, conservation commissions, septic designers and installers, foresters, and any interested citizens.
