The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has given more than $4.1 million in grants through its Community Grants Program to support the operations of 88 nonprofits working across the state.

Donations to the foundation’s Community Crisis Action Fund, along with discretionary and donor-advised funds, made it possible to increase the total amount awarded through the grants program in 2020 by nearly $1 million.

The foundation said grants will address a number of needs, such as struggling families, connecting young people with mentors, helping people get dental care, defending the rights of immigrants and refugees, for example.

Nonprofits received from $20,000 to $60,000 in grants.

The foundation awards more than $40 million in grants each year.
