Bow Youth Cal Ripken Baseball and Softball League raised $4,165 for Concord Hospital’s Lend Me a Hand Fund by hitting home runs at their games and holding other fundraisers.

Allied Insurance Agency in Bow pledged to donate $20 to a breast cancer charity of league commissioner and breast cancer and lymphoma survivor Megan Rheinhardt’s choice for every home run hit during season. Berube’s Truck Accessories and BTA Graphics created a banner to highlight the event and made breast cancer ribbons to hang at the ball field for each home run.

The first home run was hit by Rheinhardt’s son, Myles. The teams beat their goal of 15 home runs, hitting a total of 50.

They also held a coaches’ home run derby and barbecue with the Bow Rotary Club, which raised more than $3,000.
