When it comes to picking the next sheriff, it has to be David Croft. As a former deputy sheriff and former colleague of David Croft, I understand the job and know David is a great fit. David has led a police department here in Merrimack County and has had to make the daily tough decisions that come with that position. He has worked closely with elected officials to ensure that critical services are provided while being a consistent advocate for the taxpayers of the community.

His desire to apply innovative solutions to serve the community continued unabated even after David left his post as police chief. He continued his service to the county by providing exemplary leadership to the adult diversion program. This sensible approach to policing provides a second chance for those nonviolent offenders deemed motivated and worthy. In addition to the tangible benefits to the individual and families, the taxpayer benefits by avoiding having to fund expensive unnecessary incarceration. With David Croft as sheriff of Merrimack County we get a demonstrated leader who has for decades applied a holistic approach to community policing.
