In 7th and 8th grade, my social studies teacher would record the State of the Union address and show them to our class the next day. I would watch and marvel as this teacher could name almost every senator and representative flashed on the screen. She would point out our New Hampshire delegation. I can picture every minute of these viewings as if I am still there. I wanted so badly to know the names of those folks by sight like she did. The annual viewings and civic passion this woman had for them inspired my own infatuation and attempts at being part of the workings of our government.

Fast forward to June of 2020. I learned that Nancy Fraher of Chichester was on the Democratic roster for NH State Senate candidates for District 1 (while filing for my first attempt at State Rep candidacy.)

Mrs. F was my middle school Social Studies teacher, the very one who was as excited about civics as I was back in 1992. I cannot think of a more qualified person to serve in the NH State Senate. We need teachers in our government. They know the community and its needs as well as how to smell the scent of the sneaky gum chewers in the back row. Nancy Fraher embodies that. As a former student and peer, I urge the folks of District 17 to vote Nancy Fraher for State Senate on Nov. 3.
