In response to Dianna Audet’s letter requesting a National Day of Prayer (Monitor, Nov. 3): I would wager that nearly all 77-plus million Americans who voted for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris spent the next several days praying. I also offer a correction for those students who have yet to study the Civil War: You should know the turn of the tide in that war is generally acknowledged to have been the battle of Gettysburg (July 2-4, 1863), not, as mentioned, in April. In fact that war drudged on for almost exactly two more deadly years until the surrender at Appomattox Courthouse on April 9, 1865.
