The Pembroke Academy JV boys’ basketball team improved to 6-0 with a 78-60 win over Pelham. Jacob Mather led PA with 20 points, followed by Zach Bemis with 16.
The Concord boys’ grade 5/6 travel team defeated Hollis-Brookline, 36-33, on the road. Ethan Belanger and Khalil Hassan led the scoring for Concord with 11 points each. Mason Romboldi and Jacob Plodzik were huge on the boards throughout the game.
Plymouth State University Softball is hosting a one-day pitching clinic. NCAA Division I Merrimack College pitching coach and 15-time NHIAA state champion Harold Sachs will be the lead instructor. The clinic will be held on Jan. 22 at the All Well North building. Intermediate pitchers are from 1-3 p.m. Advanced pitchers from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Fee is $100 and pitchers will need to bring their own catchers (free of charge). Public ice skating is at Everett Arena on Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday hours will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday hours will also take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission will be $6 and free for ages 3 and under. Skate rentals will be available for $6 at the arena’s pro shop. Ice skating will continue through March 16. Adult stick practice will be offered for ages 14 and up on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. through March 15. Admission will be $10 and free for goalies. Concord Little League registration is open. Concord Little League serves the entire towns of Concord, Bow, Hopkinton, Henniker, Penacook and Loudon. The league offers five levels of baseball: Tee-ball (A), Coach Pitch (AA), Minors (AAA), Majors and a new Intermediate league (13 year olds on a 50/70 diamond).
