Summer concerts

Thank you to those who helped make this year’s Henniker’s 12-week Summer Concert Series an overwhelming success.

We had our largest crowds ever, with two shows approaching 650 and others 300 or more. After several challenging years of COVID, we were able to re-introduce food vending and were grateful to Henniker’s Colby Hill Inn Grazing Room, Country Spirit and Hillsborough’s R&J’s Texas BBQ for providing attendees with delicious summer fare.

Bands who graced the Angela Robinson Bandstand in Community Park were an eclectic bunch. The audience, who joined us from 17 towns and multiple states whose exuberance we welcomed.

Select Board member and Community Park neighbor, Peter Flynn and his wife Kathy, whose continued support of the series included allowing children to use their backyard as a playground on concert nights.

The Concert Committee is grateful to the Town of Henniker for providing the basic funding, as well organizations and businesses who, with their sponsorships, enabled us to bring the region’s best and brightest musicians to town: Henniker Area Rotary Club, SuperScoops, Colby Hill Inn, Friends of Tucker Free Library, Henniker Historical Society, White Birch Center, Henniker Septic Systems, Henniker House Bed & Breakfast, Edmunds Ace Hardware, Country Spirit Restaurant, Ciardelli Oil Company, Davis & Towle, Pats Peak, Henniker Family Dentistry and the Friends of Henniker Concerts.

The Henniker Concert Committee is planning for 2023 by analyzing end of summer surveys to learn which bands attendees would like us to bring back and to begin vetting new performers to introduce next year. If you attended any of the concerts and have not filled out a survey, there is still time to do so by going to our Facebook page and filling out the online survey.

Special thanks would not be complete without a shoutout to you, our audience, who joined us each week in this community-building event. Thank you!
