A HEADLINE IN the New York Post put it this way: “Quitting Facebook might make you happier, but dumber.” That might be a bit of an exaggeration, but researchers at Stanford and NYU released a report last week suggesting that deleting Facebook and other social media accounts led to increased well-being. The downside, if you can call it that, is that logging off decreases a person’s awareness of the news. With all of that in mind, our question of the week is this: Do you believe social media has enhanced your life or detracted from it, and why? Email your response by noon on Tuesday, Feb. 12, to letters@cmonitor.com (please keep it under 400 words, and include an address and phone number for verification), and we’ll run a selection in next Thursday’s Forum section.
