■Gentle Chair Yoga is held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. and the classes are $5. per class, held at the Suncook Senior Center.

■The Community Table will begin on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the St. John The Baptist Parish Hall, 10 School Street.

■The next meeting for the 2019 Winter Yard Sale at St. John the Baptist will be held on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. We are always looking for new people and new ideas. Please come join us.

■The Allenstown Historical Society will be meeting on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Suncook Business Park off rte. 28 onto Lavoie Drive.

■Cribbage is held on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. at the Suncook Senior Center.

■A Matter of Balance is held on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Suncook Senior Center. This class is free and part of an eight week program presented by the Concord Regional VNA, call for more information at 485-4254.

■Zumba Gold is held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Suncook Senior Center. Classes are $10. per class or $70. for 10 classes.

■TOPS is held on Friday at 10:15 a.m. at the Suncook Senior Center.

■Fall Concert will be held on Sunday at the Allenstown Town Hall Lawn starting at 4 p.m. with the music by “Catfish Howl.” The Allenstown Fire Dept. will provide refreshments, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, soft drinks & coffee. Parking is on the street, Town Hall, or ARD School next door. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the concert. Big Thanks goes out to AFD Chief Paul St. Germain and Allenstown Economic Dept.

■The Chamber of Commerce has been working with the Pittsfield Community Development Committee and the UNH Cooperative Extension to improve our downtown. ALL businesses are invited to a Business forum on Monday Sept. 30 at the Community Center – 6-6:30 p.m. will be for networking and 6:30-8 p.m. will be for discussion. This will be a great chance to meet other businesses, share your insights and concerns about not only our downtown but also the Pittsfield business climate in general. ■The Pittsfield Historical Society continues to raise funds for the new Museum and Headquarters. A commemorative garden on the Museum grounds is being worked on. A “BUY-A-BRICK” project affords an opportunity for people to buy a brick to honor yourself, loved ones past or present or whomever you wish to remember. ■New Library Cards for Everyone! Current software prefers numbers that have fourteen digits, but Pittsfield’s library cards currently have eight digits. So, the library is giving new cards to every library borrower! Please visit the library to get your new card. If you use your library account to download e-books, audio books or stream TV and movies, you will need to have a new library card number by October 19th. In honor of the library’s upcoming 125th birthday (in 2020) the first 125 people to claim their new card will be entered into a drawing for a batch of homemade cookies!

■Pittsfield Historical Society 2020 Calendars for sale – This year’s theme is Transportation in Pittsfield. The methods of transportation evolved over time and the calendar has many examples: wagons, trains, bicycles, early cars, motorcycles, and busses. There is also a unique picture of an airplane, piloted by Harry N. Atwood, that landed beside Dr. Frank Sargent’s rehabilitation center at 22 Catamount Road. As with all the Historical Society’s calendars, there is a brief history explaining each picture!. Cost is still $10 per calendar and is available at Pittsfield Historical Society and Pittsfield Town Hall .

■Mark your calendars. The Pittsfield Historical Society, in conjunction with New Hampshire Humanities, will host the program: “New Hampshire on High: Historic and Unusual Weathervanes” presented by Glenn Knoblock. This program will trace the history of weathervanes, their practical use and interesting symbolism. He will highlight some of the unusual weathervanes found on New Hampshire’s churches, town halls, and other public buildings from earliest times to the present. This program is free and open to the public. Please join us on Wednesday, October 9, at 7:00 p.m. at the Historical Society, 13 Elm Street.

■The planning for the PHS All Class Reunion in July 2020 will begin on October 21, 2019 at 6:30pm at Pittsfield Middle High School. Please join the team to help plan a great time for all! ■The Infant Toddler Diaper Pantry will be open on Tues, Oct 1 from 9-11 am at the First Congregational Church. Young families are given supplemental diapers and wipes. Everyone is welcome. Please use the Chestnut Street entrance. Monetary and product contributions are always welcome. Please call the church at 435-7471 to arrange drop-off.

■Joy Church will be hosting FREE family movie night this Friday (Oct 4) at 6:30 pm. Join us as we watch “Toy Story 4” ! We will have lots of free popcorn, candy and drinks. Everyone is invited! Joy Church is located at 55 Barnstead Rd. in the Atlantic Safety Products building.

■The Suncook Valley Area Lions Club are selling pumpkins. The Lions Club will be set up at Mike’s Meat Shoppe on Upper City Road on Sat-Sun, Sept. 28 and 29 from 9-3pm. Pumpkins are $6 for Medium size (12-18lbs) and $11 for Jumbo (18-25lbs). You can also call 435-5052 to pick up your pumpkins. Come and support your local Lions Club!
