The latest art exhibition at Two Villages Art Society in Hopkinton, features the work of Andrew Heath. The exhibition, titled “(Ir)Reverent,” opens July 1 at Two Villages Art Society’s gallery at 846 Main St., in the village of Contoocook. There will be an opening reception with the artist on July 1 from noon to 2 p.m.

Andrew Heath, a New Hampshire native living in Concord, focuses on printmaking, photography, sculpture, and found media. He is a member of the board of The Concord Makerspace, Concord’s collaborative makerspace for artists of all skill sets and ambitions.

“(Ir)Reverent” presents the young artist’s take on the absurd nature of public life, exploring its subjects with humor and occasional irony.

“Stylistically, we have never hosted a show like this before,” explained Alyssa McKeon, co-president of TVAS. “Andrew’s larger than life work will leave an impression.”

The thought-provoking exhibit features several large cyanotype photo prints, as well as smaller works including sculptural pieces. According to the artist, each of the main portraits focuses on a caricatured influential personality in contemporary life.

“The hope is that the work will engage the viewer in a grand manner but as they look closer at the image, they will notice the details and humor of the work,” Heath says.

Two Villages Art Society’s gallery is open to the public free of charge Thursday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. (Ir)Reverent will be on display and for sale July 1 to 29.

Two Villages Art Society is a non-profit, member-driven art association with a gallery located at 846 Main St., in Hopkinton’s Contoocook Village. It was voted Best of NH (art galleries) by New Hampshire Magazine in 2022. Membership is open to all and admission to exhibits is free.
