Bernie has a good heart, good mind, clear eyes and common sense. He’s brave, honest, compassionate, intelligent and practical. He’s a bold but minimalist problem-solver, not a zealot. His solutions are just enough to be comprehensive, the most economical of thorough fixes.
Bernie began fulfilling a dedication to justice with civil rights activism in his youth. His commitment to real problem-solving has continued lifelong, and he has repeatedly evinced independent good judgment, such as when he voted against the Iraq War. He’s among the first to discuss systemic problems like income inequality, inadequate health care and climate change, and to honestly identify their root causes, as well as the overall problem: the richest 1% and corporations dominating politics.
Entrenched interests have tried to scare away popular support from Bernie, usually calling his solutions socialism or tax inflaters. Following Lincoln’s key tenet – government working for the people – Bernie’s programs are simply all-American services that support our basic human rights, no different than Social Security or regular Medicare. Taxes on average citizens are far less than the unaffordable private costs for the same services.
Marginalization and demoralization left average Americans subject to charlatan saviors. Now, our constitutional democracy is threatened and we’re more vulnerable than ever to false prophets. Study the candidates’ true selves and you will see that Bernie’s the one with the experience and calibrated moral compass necessary to restore law and order, ethics and humanity, to American rule.
