I renew my plea to Archie Richards (Monitor letters, Feb. 28) to please supply supporting facts if he is going to make radical proposals, like privatizing roads. Where is the evidence that “privatizing  government services improves quality and lowers costs”? Has privatizing roads been done elsewhere? If so, how was it accomplished? What savings were found? How did the quality of roads improve? My suspicion is there are no facts to back up such a proposal and Richards would be hard-pressed to find any.
