Investigators released a sketch on May 17, 2022 of a person of interest in the investigation of the deaths of Steve and Wendy Reid. Police said he was seen near where the Reids were shot on Monday April 18, 2022. He is described as a clean-shaven 5'10' white male in his late 20s or early 30s with medium build and short brown hair. Police and the NH Attorney General said the man was wearing a dark blue jacket (possibly with a hood), khaki-colored pants, and carrying a black backpack.

Concord Police and the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office say the driver of a dark green Toyota RAV4 they had been looking for is not a suspect in the murders of Steve and Wendy Reid and had no connection to the crime.

On June 2, Concord Police Chief Brad Osgood and Senior Assistant Attorney General Geoff Ward asked the public for help locating the driver of the vehicle that was parked at the Broken Ground trailhead. Dashboard camera images from school buses and private cars showed the car had been parked at the trailhead on April 18, the day the retired Concord couple went missing.

The Reids left for a walk from their Alton Woods apartment around 2:20 p.m. that afternoon and never returned. Their bodies were found on April 21.

The Attorney General’s Office announced Thursday that investigators had identified the owner of the SUV and that that person was not connected to the double homicide.

Police are still looking for a person of interest in the case depicted in a sketch released on May 17, described as 5’10” white man of medium build in his late 20s or early 30s with short brown hair and no beard. Investigators say the man was seen near the shooting on April 18, wearing a black backpack, a dark blue jacket and khaki-colored pants.
