Red Sox trophy makes stop in Boscawen

On June 19, the Town of Boscawen Old Home Day Committee hosted the 2018 Boston Red Sox World Series Trophy together with mascots Wally and Tessie at the Winthrop Carter House Wedding Barn. The event was an unqualified success, with hundreds of townsfolk and more than 200 elementary school children attending, posing for pictures, and getting high fives and hugs from the mascots. The committee also honored teenager Corbin Raymond with a personalized Red Sox Jersey, presented by Tom Shattuck of Ross Express, celebrating Corbinโ€™s remarkable recovery from a serious automobile crash.

Thanks go to Steve Brown at Ross Express whose generosity made it all happen and to Katy and Colm Brophy for the use of their beautiful facility; to the Boscawen Police Department, Chief Wyman, Lt. Killary and Officer Bruce Barton; to Dean Hollins and Adam Egounis, Boscawen Public Works, for handling parking; to Jeff Drouin, Boscawen Elementary School Principal and Kim Kenney, Teacher for rallying the participation of the adorable students and Boscawen Elementary teachers; to Katie Phelps who acted as escort for Wally and Tessie and who took hundreds of photos with hundreds of cameras; to BOHD Committee members Polly Dawson, Laura Lane, Bev Lacoy and Rhoda Bergeron for planning and pitching in at every turn. Finally, many thanks to the Boston Red Sox and their four employees whose professionalism, patience (with enthusiasm) and courtesy made for a very special event.

Thank you all,

Lyman Cousens,

Boscawen
