Sanel NAPA buys five stores from Franklin Auto Group

  • One of the oldest companies in Concord, 98-year-old Sanel Auto Parts, is linking up with the national NAPA Auto Parts cooperative, a move it says is necessary for the family-owned chain to compete in a consolidating industry. Soon, the Sanel store on South Main Street will have all new branding from NAPA Auto Parts around the store. GEOFF FORESTER

The fourth-generation family owned auto-parts business, which joined forces with the national NAPA ground a year ago, said it has bought Franklin stores in four Vermont towns and Greenfield, Mass. In some places, the move will involve consolidation with existing Sanel stores.

Sanel Auto Parts was founded in 1920 and now has more than 40 stores in four states.
