Sierra, an off-price retailer of outdoor apparel and gear, is opening on Loudon Road later this month.

The store is slated to open Saturday, Nov. 23, in the former Bed, Bath & Beyond store alongside the TJ Maxx clothing store, which is located at 12 Loudon Road in King’s Plaza.

Sierra, formerly called Sierra Trading Post, is owned by TJX Companies, the parent company of TJ Maxx, and the two stores often operate close to each other. It has opened more than 100 stores around the country. This will be its sixth store in New Hampshire, with locations in Salem, Keene, Nashua, West Lebanon and Bedford already established.

Off-price retailers buy merchandise directly from manufacturers, taking advantage of unsold items and items from the previous season. Sierra sells apparel, shoes and outdoor gear such as kayaks, sleeping bags, sporting goods, and ski equipment.

The original Sierra Trading Post was based out of Reno, Nevada and was purchased by TJX in 2012.

The arrival of the Sierra store in Concord comes on the heels of the exit of the Eastern Mountain Sports store from the Fort Eddy Plaza. Nearby LL Bean and Dicks Sporting Goods also sell outdoor gear in the city.
