The twice-annual auction of surplus government property returns Saturday at White Farm in Concord, and crowds are expected.

The auction sale, held each spring and fall, unloads hundreds of surplus items from the state and municipal governments ranging from filing cabinets and tools to pallets of fire hoses and rows of kayaks to research laboratory equiprment and large construction vehicles like front-end loaders.

The auction has proved particularly popular in this era of supply chains squeezed by the pandemic since a number of used cars and pickup trucks are available.

Bidder registration starts at 7 a.m. at White Farm, 144 Clinton St. Inside auction starts at 8:30 and the outside auction of vehicles starts at 9 a.m.
