A quick note of thanks and appreciation to all who participated and helped out with the first Friends of White Park Bags & Bites cornhole tournament. This event is part of our ongoing efforts to raise funds and awareness for a new playground at White Park (more information can be found at friendsofwhitepark.org). Dozens of competitors and spectators showed up for some good-spirited competition and delicious pizza from Constantly Pizza!
Mark your calendars now, because we look forward to doing this again next May!
Special thanks to Melissa West for practically single-handedly putting this event together; Ward 4 council member Karen McNamara and at-large council member Byron Champlin, for lending their support (and for Karen and her husband Pete for their valiant efforts in the competition – maybe next year Mr. Champlin will sign on to a team).
Also, we’d be remiss if we didn’t thank David Gill and Mukesh Singh with Concord Parks & Rec, Wicked Cornhole, and all of the wonderful sponsors of this event: Ledyard Bank, Global Wealth Management, The Beech Hill School, Civix Strategy Group, IndepthNH.org, and, the Concord Monitor.
