Seventh-grade Weare Middle School student Terry Greene won the school competition of the National Geographic Bee this week and a chance at $50,000 college scholarship.
The Weare Middle School Bee was the first round in the 29th annual National Geographic Bee. Terry will now take a qualifying test. Up to 100 of the top scorers on that test in each state will then be eligible to compete in the state Bee on March 31.
Everyone can test their geography knowledge by downloading the โNational Geographic GeoBee Challengeโ app, with more than 1,000 questions culled from past Bees. The app is available at the App Store for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, from the Android Market, or for NOOK Color.
