What was the highlight of your season? Being a part of the first varsity football program in Hopkinton/Hillsboro. There were a lot of great moments that occurred during the season but the history of this season eclipses them all.
Who was the unsung hero of your team? The unsung hero of our football team was my brother Caleb Yianakopolos; he had an outstanding year as a sophomore quarterback and was overshadowed by his backfield and receivers. We should not have been surprised when we found out he was number four in Division II with his completion percentage.
What was the biggest surprise of the season? The biggest surprise of the season was our season opener under the lights away against an experienced Manchester West team. Not only was it our first game ever but also we shut them out 34-0.
Do you have any sports superstitions? If so, what are they? No, I don’t believe in superstition we are going to win or lose depending on how well we have prepared during the week and how we leave that on the field.
What’s your favorite pre-game meal? I eat nine eggs with feta and a bagel with peanut butter, along with a glass of lots of pulp orange juice.
If someone was going to make a movie of your season, who would play your coach? Who would play you? John Krasinski from “The Office” would play me, as far as my coach, nobody could play Coach Wood.
If you could go to any sporting event, what would it be? The sporting event that I would attend is the Super Bowl where the Patriots are playing the Giants in a redemption game.
If you weren’t playing your sport in the fall, what would you be doing? That’s not really an option, but if I had to choose I would be weightlifting twice a day.
What’s your favorite app? I don’t have a favorite app.
What’s your most-played song right now? “300 Violin Orchestra” by Jorge Quintero.
Do you have any must-see television shows? “Hawaii 5-0,” “The Office” and any time football is on TV.
If you could have dinner with any three people, who would it be? And what would you serve? I would have dinner with my grandparents who passed away before I got to know them, and Julian Edelman. We would eat protein and carbs because Julian needs his fuel for the game that week.
If you got a $1 million to start a company, what would you do? I would open up a gym as a personal trainer, where I would train kids that don’t get as much exposure to the collegiate level and I would act as their trainer and recruiting coach to get to the next level.
If you had to go on a talent show, what would you do? Play the saxophone because I find peace and enjoyment in my music studies.
