    <description>&lt;p&gt;Robert Owen Burns, 70, died Sunday, May 20th, 2012 after a short illness at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Robert was born November 10th, 1941 in No. Strafford to Leon Wesley Burns and Virginia Mae (Berthiaume) Burns. Robert graduated from Concord High School, Concord, in 1959. He had a love for acting and performed in fifty plays with The Concord Community Players. He also performed in several productions with The New London Barn Playhouse in New London, the N.H. Family Theatre in Meredith, and the Lakes Region Summer Theatre in Gilford. As well as his love for acting, he also had a love for animals. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister Diane (Burns) Gerow.Robert leaves his son Michael R. Burns of Penacook; his daughter Julie K. (Burns) Stendor of Belmont; his grandson Dalton J. Stendor of Belmont; and his nephew Brian Gerow of Noel, Mo.A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 9th, from 1 to 5 p.m.&lt;/p&gt;

    <description>&lt;p&gt;BOSCAWEN - Christopher J Byrne, 67, of Boscawen, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the CRVNA Hospice House in Concord. He was born August 11, 1944 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He served in the Air Force and worked for the NYC Transit Authority for 26 years. Chris and his wife Patricia moved to New Hampshire in 1996. He enjoyed photography, making stained glass and doing volunteer work for Friends of Forgotten Children and Meals on Wheels.He is survived by his wife of 41 years Patricia (Horan) Byrne; his son Christopher Byrne, Jr., and his wife Natalie; his daughter Tara Byrne and her partner Ken Heater; three grandchildren, Aiden Heater, Nolan Byrne and Juliette Byrne; sisters Joan Gathman, Ellen Barna and Rita Mackie; brothers Thomas Byrne and Kenneth Byrne. He was predeceased by his brothers John Byrne and James Byrne; and his sister Christine Byrne.Calling hours will be held Friday, May 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N.     <description>&lt;p&gt;NEWPORT - Richard D. Parker, age 97, died Friday, May 18, 2012 in Unity. A native son of Newport, Dick was active in the community since his youth on South Main Street. He was born February 3, 1915, the middle child of five of Fred C. and Hallie E. (Hinschillwood) Parker. He, his brothers and other friends spent summers fishing and hunting along the Sugar River and in the surrounding hills. Growing up in pre-electric Newport, he kept the woodstove stoked in winter and the icebox filled in summer. Dick was an avid sportsman, lettering in baseball and football at Towle High School, graduating with the class of 1933.Dick was bitten by the ski bug in the 1930&#039;s and became a founding member of the Newport Ski Club along with John McCrillis, Bill Tracey, Jim Flint and others. They hand-cut a Class I ski trail on the southeast flank of Mount Sunapee above Newbury Harbor and they built a log cabin at the top as a respite for racers before their timed schuss down the mountain.&lt;/p&gt;

Nancy earned a Bachelor&#039;s degree from Bowling Green State University and a Master &#039;s in Speech Pathology from Eastern Michigan University. In her long career as a Speech Pathologist, Nancy was a dedicated and skilled practitioner, but even more so, she loved the daily interactions and connections with young children, who brought joy and meaning to her life.&lt;/p&gt;
