Jim Mayotte asked a few weeks ago where all the letters touting President Biden’s accomplishments were. Jim, since you asked. A Google search will pull up much more, but a few of the highlights are 10 million new jobs (Trump lost 3 million) resulting in the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years. The infrastructure bill, a joke in Trump’s admin, will repair 1,500 bridges and 65,000 miles of roads this year alone while creating jobs across the country, expanding broadband to underserved areas to allow rural America to join the 21st century economy. Expanded tax credits for renewable energy to free us from reliance on fossil fuels, expanded environmental protections.
Got 500 million COVID shots into arms to help open the economy, allowed Medicare to negotiate drug prices, lowering costs to seniors and capping insulin at $35 per month. Strengthened NATO and built a coalition of nations to help our ally, Ukraine. Filled judicial vacancies at a record pace. First federal gun legislation in almost 30 years. Passed the CHIPS Act, to rebuild our semiconductor industry (more jobs) so as not to rely on foreign suppliers. Passed the PACT Act to provide for our veterans exposed to toxins while serving. This was popularized as the ‘burn pit bill’, but provides for further relief to Vietnam vets exposed to agent orange. These are all things that the majority of Americans, both Democrats and Republicans, think are good for the country. Why would anyone want to put a stop to this kind of progress?
