I just received an additional update to my annual notice of changes (ANOC) from my Medicare Advantage provider. Maybe you other seniors did, too. It read, in part, “Good news. Starting January 1, 2023, you will pay $0 for the shingles vaccine, tetanus booster shots and other covered Part D vaccines. And you will only pay $35 for each one-month supply of covered insulin products.”
How did this happen? It was part of the Inflation Reduction Act, supported and passed by our recently re-elected Democratic Congressional delegation, over the Republican opposition. And while I’m sure many conservative opinion holders will cry “socialism,” especially if they are under 65, I say, if this be socialism, bring it on.
