A pair of championship sweeps by its Nordic ski teams and strong seasons from its hockey and wrestling teams lifted Concord High School into the lead in the Monitor Cup after the winter season.
The Monitor Cup ranks the area’s 15 high school varsity sports programs, awarding points based on records, how far teams advanced in the tournament and individual champions.
Bow won the fall portion, but Concord’s strong winter gave the Tide the seasonal win and put it atop the year-long standings heading into the spring.
Kearsarge was second this winter behind three skiing championships, with Bow third. Hopkinton was atop the weighted rankings, where total points are divided by the number of varsity sports offered, allowing smaller schools to measure themselves against their larger counterparts.
