The city’s annual period to renew dog licenses begins today.
As required by state law, dog owners in Concord must register their pets at the city clerk’s office every year. The licenses are effective from May 1 to April 30 of the subsequent year.
Licenses will only be issued if the city clerk’s office has current rabies vaccination information on file. If you don’t know whether the city has current rabies information for your dog, email cityclerk@concordnhgov or call 225-8500.
Owners who license their dog after May 31 are subject to additional fees. If you moved out of Concord or no longer have your dog, contact the city clerk’s office.
Residents may mail payments for a dog license to the city clerk’s office at 41 Green St. in Concord. The clerk’s hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with extended hours until 6 p.m. Thursday.
The fees are:
Non-spayed or non-neutered dogs: $10
Spayed or neutered dogs: $7.50
Dogs under 8 months old: $7.50
Five or more dogs of same owner: $20
First dog for owner 65 years or older: $2. The regular rate will apply for additional dogs.
