The Manchester Monarchs rallied back to tie the game twice in the third period on Friday before ultimately falling to the Toledo Walleye, 5-4.

Manchester trailed 3-1 entering the final frame, but used goals by Matt Fornataro and Joe Diamond in the first four minutes of the third to pull even at 3-3. Toledo went back ahead at 6:05, but the Monarchs pulled back even on Diamond’s second of the period five minutes later.

The Walleye’s Tylor Spink scored the game-winner with 4:04 to play.

Michael Boivin scored Manchester’s other goal, and goalie Doug Carr took the loss, stopping 21 of 26 shots.
