I have personally and repeatedly commented to Eversource and the New Hampshire Site Evaluation Committee about my concerns regarding the clear and present danger the Hydro-Quebec Northern Pass project poses to residents and the entire Northeastern electrical grid.
Crowding narrow (250- foot) right-of-ways with one massive 345 kV service in addition to two existing 115 kV services is an invitation to disaster.
Do not dismiss the events in Tyngsboro, Mass., reported widely as a fluke, where incendiary devices were found on the transmission lines from Canadian power generators.
Where mischievous amateurs fail, professionals bent on spectacular devastation will not, especially on unsecured and unprotected New Hampshire right-of-ways.
Bury the Northern Pass entirely, and remove the target from New Hampshireโs back.
