Susty’s Cafe in Northwood, an all-vegan restaurant, was nominated by PETA for the Business Excellence/Sustainability Award. The winner of the award will be announced at the annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism in May. Susty’s recycles, composts, invites diners to bring their own containers and coffee cups to take orders to-go and uses local New Hampshire farmers’ produce whenever possible.

Get Fit NH of Concord and Epsom was named Best of the Best gym in New Hampshire by Hippo Press.
White Birch Community Center purchased a 14-passenger bus with help from community contributions. The bus will be used for transportation for senior, child care and school-age programs, and it has wheelchair seating and a lift. Major sponsors include Merrimack County Savings Bank, David & Towle Insurance, Ayer & Goss Fuels, the Henniker Rotary Club and John and Lucia Evans.
