The New Hampshire Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence began national Crime Victims Rights Week with a memorial service Sunday afternoon at St. Paul’s Church in Concord. The reception honored victims who died or have been tramatized by violent crime.
Gov. Maggie Hassan will join a team of state officials for a press conference this morning at 9:30, shortly after a ribbon-cutting for the New Hampshire Clothesline Project.
The press conference will include an honorary award presented to the family of the late state police Lt. James Geraghty. In addition, Detective Julie Curtin of the Concord Police Department will be honored with the National Sexual Violence Resource Center’s Visionary Voice Award, which recognizes an individual’s work toward ending sexual violence.
Victim advocacy organizations will show displays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., including T-shirts from the N.H. Clothesline Project and quilts from Victims Inc. featuring squares made by families of crash and homicide victims.
