When Kelly Ayotte says the next president should select the next Supreme Court justice, she is lying.
She knows full well that when we wake up on Nov. 9 and have elected a Democratic president and Senate, the first order of business will be to confirm Merrick Garland as the next justice.
This plan is no secret, and Sen. Ayotte knows it. She should be ashamed to be part of such a nefarious and shortsighted ploy.
At the very least she should own up to her lie.
