The interesting article “This bed was made by liberals” by Steve Mongan (Monitor Forum, April 8) failed to mention the time-honored political motto “It’s the economy, stupid.”
Since 2008, millions of Americans are insecure concerning their future, that of their children and even their grandchildren.
They are insecure in their jobs, retirement plans, health insurance, the environment and even their home ownership.
Liberal programs have certainly added costs in this country, but the primary cause of this insecurity has been the philosophy and practices of Republicans, Big Business and Wall Street with the catalyst of Ronald Reagan’s trickle-down economics.
