These past few months of political theater have been entertaining, but that’s all they’ve been – Kardashian-like entertainment. As 7 years of GOP obstructionism have shown, the presidency is nothing but a figurehead.
It was Congress that wrote thousands of pages of tax laws with loopholes for corporations and the wealthy.
It was Congress that has cut the IRS budget, making it even easier for tax evaders to avoid paying their rightful share.
It was Congress that allowed corporations to pollute our air, land and water, killing more Americans with cancer than terrorists ever will.
It was Congress that allowed our highways, bridges, transportation systems and dams to deteriorate
It was Congress that passed the law prohibiting Medicare from negotiating better prices with big pharmaceutical firms, thus increasing what we all pay for drugs.
It was Congress that passed budgets putting America trillions of dollars in debt.
If you really want to make America great again, forget the presidential race-to-the-bottom circus and focus on electing a Congress that puts America and Americans ahead of slimy partisan politics.
