It’s unimaginable three veteran school board members – Sandy Wyatt, Terri Noyes and Steve Miller, (along with Superintendent Moe Ward) – would exclude two new school board members in deciding to schedule a public meeting. This occurred just nine days after the widely publicized seven minute meeting Leavitt and Ball attended in good faith.
New members Peter Leavitt and Michael Ball weren’t contacted to determine their availability for meeting during April vacation week. This deceitfully scheduled meeting is in addition to the regular board calendar.
In fact-checking historical records to at least 2011, there has never been a school board meeting held on a vacation week.
Peter Leavitt, a firefighter, is scheduled to work and re-arranged his schedule to be able to attend the prior school board meeting cut short due to manipulation by superintendent and existing members.
Michael Ball, whose daughter underwent traumatic medical treatment so she could walk again, is taking her to Florida so she can meet the dolphin with a prosthetic tail. This little girl and Michael’s family have been through a lot and deserve this time to de-stress.
While Leavitt is quite possibly saving lives and Ball is putting his family as priority, our veteran board members connive and manipulate in order to push their agendas.
Board members unable to make meetings is one thing; it’s an entirely different matter when two members aren’t included in SAU communication. What a warm welcome to public service.
Shame on Wyatt, Noyes, Miller and Ward for acting so unethically and unprofessionally.
