While you are celebrating the recent victory that protects the bobcat, I hope you take the time to show your appreciation by donating to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Nongame and Endangered Wildlife Program.
You can do that by sending a check or donating online. If all who signed the petition or sent testimony to Fish and Game sent at least $10, we could make a significant difference.
Those who were going to post their land if the proposed season was approved might want to send an amount they would have spent to post their land. Remember that the motivation for opening the hunting/trapping season came from only a few of the Fish and Game commissioners.
Most Fish and Game scientists opposed this proposal. Since about 20 percent of Fish and Game funding is from license sales, sending a contribution to support the nongame program will send a clear message that those who appreciate wildlife in ways other than harvesting them are willing to step to the plate and help support the Fish and Game programs that emphasize sustaining and protecting nongame wildlife.
Donations to the Nongame Program are tax-deductible and are matched by a State of New Hampshire matching grant program.
