Millie Shaw was recently honored by her hometown of Sanbornton for her lifelong dedication to the town and its residents. Select board members Karen Ober and David Nickerson visited her at the Cottage at Golden View in Meredith, where she now lives, to present her with a copy of the most recent town report, which was dedicated to her.
Ober and Nickerson said they wanted to congratulate Shaw in person and thank her for her years of service to the town. Shaw, who grew up in Sanbornton, was the postmaster for 30 years and extremely active in the community. She is also a skilled researcher and genealogist who has helped several of the town’s residents find out more about their families histories throughout the years.
“This is such a surprise,” Shaw said upon receiving her copy of the report. “I’m very happy they chose to dedicate it to me.”
