Spring leaf collection has begun in Concord.

The city’s general services department started its annual pickup Monday. The season will continue through June 4, excluding weekends. Concord residents with curbside trash and recycling collection can place an unlimited amount of leaves and grass clippings on the curb for disposal on their designated pickup day. That yard waste should be placed in biodegradable yard waste bags or labeled rigid containers; plastic bags and other unacceptable containers will not be collected.

City residents may also bring their leaves to the Earth Materials Recycling Center for free disposal if the load is smaller than a non-commercial pickup truck. Proof of residency is required. Containers used for transport must be taken back with the user.

Earth Materials Recycling Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Hours are weather dependent; call ahead to confirm at 545-4835.
