Your money, my money

I suppose this is piling on, but I too have been under-impressed by the reconstruction of Village Street in Penacook.

It goes uphill, it goes downhill, while the cemetery wall is perfectly level. One hopes that the sewer pipes at least are straight. It looks like it was built by 10 different driveway contractors. Low bid wins again.

I was going to stop and take a picture but alas you stop on that section at your own peril as there is no place to pull over. This stretch, like the one north of the stone church, will become impassable on yard sale days.

Now I read that we are going to tear up $100,000 worth of already installed traffic signal infrastructure so we can build a roundabout at Exit 16 and Mountain Road. What a waste of taxpayer money. Your money! My money!

Meanwhile all over Concord we put โ€œfrost heaveโ€ signs where in reality the pavement is broken up from neglect. Abbott Road by the guardrail is slowly sliding over the edge from all the truck and heavy equipment going back and forth.

We need to stop throwing away money on feel-good projects and start maintaining what we already have.

Your money! My money!
