Not a democracy

America is not a democracy. It is a constitutional republic, and the primary difference is that our elected officials represent the people within the limits of the power granted to them by the Constitution.

America is a democratic form of government operating within the confines of the Constitution. Read the presidential oath of office: I do solemnly swear to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

There is a reason for that oath. Be proud of it, and donโ€™t let anyone fool you into thinking we need to bring democracy to America. We donโ€™t. Weโ€™ll be fine if every elected official would only keep their oath of office.

Government limited by a strong Constitution, that is what Iโ€™m talking about.
