America is not a democracy. It is a constitutional republic, and the primary difference is that our elected officials represent the people within the limits of the power granted to them by the Constitution.
America is a democratic form of government operating within the confines of the Constitution. Read the presidential oath of office: I do solemnly swear to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
There is a reason for that oath. Be proud of it, and donโt let anyone fool you into thinking we need to bring democracy to America. We donโt. Weโll be fine if every elected official would only keep their oath of office.
Government limited by a strong Constitution, that is what Iโm talking about.
