Fifteen-year-old Joyce Gilbert, who went missing April 29, was found safely in Northfield on Friday, according to police.
Northfield officers were responding to a separate case on Elm Street on Friday about 3 p.m. when a teenage girl matching Gilbert’s description rode by on a bicycle, said Officer Brian Beach. Officers confronted Gilbert, identified her and then took her into custody. She was later picked up from the station by state police.
Gilbert left her Salisbury home more than a week ago and was last seen leaving Wal-Mart in Tilton on April 30. Police did not suspect foul play in their search last week. In a statement, police said Gilbert had an argument with her father the night she disappeared.
